A lot of women I work with equate body respect with body LOVE- and where I hope all of you learn to love your body one day, going from a difficult relationship with food and your body straight to love is a BIG jump, and I don’t expect you to take that right now. Body love isn’t an overnight shift- it’s a process, and it starts with body acceptance as a crucial step to body respect. Just like you wouldn’t expect someone who may be healing a difficult personal relationship, to immediately jump back into loving that person. There might be love THERE, but there is healing to be done and respect to be formed.
